Cancer Stems Cells Form the ‘Central Universe’ of a Tumor

Quiescent cancer stem cells are often missed when by resection surgery, amounting to cancer relapse. Being radiation resistant, these cancer stem cells survive treatments, posing a risk for more aggressive cancers in the future.
