The Antibodies Allowing New Areas of Research in Neuroscience

Dr Lasse Dissing-Olesen describes his work and interest into microglia cells in the brain, and how, by partnering with BioLegend, they were able to produce a highly selective marker for microglia cells, the anti-purinergic receptor P2Y (P2RY12) antibody,

Dr. Lasse Dissing-Olesen

Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School

Dr. Lasse Dissing-Olesen is a postdoctoral fellow in the Stevens lab at Harvard Medical School. He is leading two lines of research. The first line investigates the regulatory mechanisms underlying microglia’s phagocytic activity during development. The second line examines the elimination of neuronal synapses in the adult central nervous system during different circumstances using in vivo two-photon microscopy.
