Dr. Michael Caligiuri, the former President of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), shares what inspired him to dedicate his career to cancer research. He goes on to speak about the legacy he has left behind at AACR, detailing initiatives that focus on cancer health disparities in the community. The ‘2020 by 2020’ initiative started by Caligiuri will sequence 2,020 tumors and normal tissue samples from African-American cancer patients.

Caligiuri was the 2016-2017 president of the American Association for Cancer Research, the world's largest cancer research organization with 40,000 members in 120 countries. Currently, he is president of City of Hope National Medical Center and physician-in-chief.
